TSLDM Best Paper Award

Salita Sombatsiri, a former Ph.D. student, received the Best Paper Award of IPSJ Transactions on System LSI Design Methodology on Aug. 28, 2019. The title of the awarded paper is “Parallelism-flexible Convolution Core for Sparse Convolutional Neural Networks on FPGA”.

We have five guests from Shanghai Jiao Tong University on Aug. 9th, Prof. Minyi Guo, Prof. Jingwen Leng, Prof. Wenli Zheng, Prof. Chao Li, and Prof. Quan Chen. Prof. Yu gave a presentation about Hashimoto Lab., and Mr. Zheng gave a research presentation about approximation computing for neural networks.


Prof. Awano gave an invited presentation entitled “Hardware Acceleration of Public Key Cryptography Algorithm” at APSCIT2019 held in Sapporo, Japan from Jul. 26 to 29.


Mr. Taiyu Cheng gave a presentation entitled with “Minimizing Power for Neural Network Training with Logarithm-Approximate Floating-Point Multiplier” in 29th International Symposium on Power and Timing Modeling, Optimization and Simulation (PATMOS) held in Rhodes, Greece, from July 1st to 3rd, 2019.


Mr. Jun Chen gave a presentation entitled “Frequency-Dependent Target Impedance Method Fulfilling Both Average and Dynamic Voltage Drop Constraints” in 23rd IEEE Workshop on Signal and Power Integrity (SPI) held in Chambéry, France from June 18th to 21st, 2019.


Prof. Awano gave an oral presentation entitled “PUFNet: A Deep Neural Network based Modeling Attack for Physically Unclonable Function” at ISCAS 2019 held in Sapporo, Japan from May 27 to 29.
